Concrete Sealing, densification and polishing will increase the wear resistance of your concrete surface, adding years of life to your concrete floor. Because we remove the original concrete seal/coating, we reapply a densifying concrete seal to stop dusting and harden the floor (using an impregnating concrete hardener). Several diamond grinds are done in order to prepare the concrete for the polishing steps.
Elimination of Dusting from Efflorescence: In ordinary unpolished concrete, tiny particles of dust are pushed to the surface. Efflorescence leads to dusting, which forces epoxies off of the surface of concrete floors, making maintenance a costly priority.
Stain-Resistant: By densifying and sealing the surface, polished concrete transforms a porous concrete floor into a tightened floor that is dense enough to repel water, oil, and other contaminants, preventing them from penetrating the surface.
Improved Reflectivity and Ambient Lighting: The reflective properties of a polished concrete floor increase the lighting in facilities. Increased ambient lighting will reduce the energy bill as well as look beautiful.
Increased Slip Resistance: Although quite shiny and glossy, polished concrete does not create a slippery floor. In fact, the benefits of mechanically grinding and flattening the floor will increase the coefficient of friction when compared to ordinary concrete. Polished concrete often exceeds OSHA standards for floors.
Reduced tire wear: We all know that rough, uneven texture of natural concrete can wear and tears tires quicker….. With the end result of polished concrete being a smooth surface, this actually prevents tires from abrading and adding to their wear.
It's Ecologically Friendly: Polished concrete is a LEEDs (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) friendly product. It utilizes the existing concrete surface which eliminates the need for additional toxic coverings, waxes, stripping and coating materials to be manufactured and purchased. It is odorless, dustless. No harmful chemicals are used. It is environmentally friendly. Meets all OSHA and ADA co-efficient slip ratings. Our concrete polishing process is a mechanical dust-free and water-free surface preparation system utilizing water based, odorless, zero VOC, USDA approved chemicals.
No Production/Plant Shutdowns: Our concrete polished process is clean, dust free, mess free, and with no toxic or hazardous chemicals present. Your floors can be polished without interruption to your daily routine & activity. Polished areas can be put into service immediately after the process is complete.
The Floor Is Repaired: This process will remove pitting, unevenness, existing build ups of glue, adhesives, paint or coatings in the concrete surface. This is done by grinding with metal bonded diamonds. All concrete surface is diamond leveled flattened. Concrete Floor Finishes can provide you with necessary floor rehabilitation work such as existing coating removal, joint curl, spalling, and surface crack repair.
The Floor Can Breathe: The floors can breath, allowing water vapor to pass through the slab. The number one cause of concrete coatings failure is hydrostatic pressure building up under the coating. Polished concrete can breath, allowing moisture to escape while not allowing salts or efflorescence to form, at the same time increasing surface spill resistance.
This system eliminates vapor failures related to floor coverings.
Water Repellency:
The Polishing System chemically and mechanically locks up the pores at the surface of the floor. This densification process inhibits the penetration of water, oils, and other contaminants.
Quality: Not all polished concrete is the same. How do you as a consumer/ company determine, compare and understand the differences between quality. A polished quality process means the difference between a short term shine (3-4) step process, and a true quality end result- our 12 step process. Both processes are polished concrete. One is a short term shine. Our 12 step polishing process is the quality you want. At concrete Floor Finishes we are dedicated and committed to providing you with unmatched superior quality and an amazing floor finish-backed by our warranty. |
